Executives from Alphabet and Google met with Prime Minister Anutin to build on discussions held at the United Nations General Assembly, reaffirming their commitment to investing in Thailand with a focus on environmentally responsible investment and clean energy usage.

On 5 Nov 2026 at 13:30 at the Government House, Mr. Ekaphop Pianpiset, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Mrs. Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google, met with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. Both sides reviewed progress on investment in Thailand and exchanged views on promoting cooperation in digital infrastructure and AI skill development.

The Prime Minister welcomed and expressed pleasure at meeting again following their September meeting in New York City, USA. Google reaffirmed its commitment to business operations and investment in Thailand as previously discussed, noting ongoing coordination with Thai agencies. The government prioritizes sustainable investment using clean energy and responsible business practices, supporting collaboration with Google on the AI for All Thais project to develop AI skills locally across agriculture, society, healthcare, and education sectors.

Both parties also discussed promoting investment in data center businesses. Google shared views on improving laws and regulations, particularly regarding water and electricity usage, vital resources for data center operations. The Prime Minister assured that the government appropriately oversees these issues, with policies and regulations designed to balance the benefits for all parties, enabling investment to progress alongside efficient, sustainable national resource management.

Additionally, the Prime Minister discussed plans to develop a One Stop Service system for data center business license applications, applying AI technology at every step to enhance efficiency and convenience for investors. Google expressed interest, noting existing AI projects of this nature, and committed to being among the first companies and a model for others interested in investing in Thailand's data center sector.

Meanwhile, both sides exchanged views on AI skill development cooperation, emphasizing promoting knowledge and modern technology skills across all groups—communities, farmers, workers, students—to enable effective application of AI and digital technologies in work and daily life. This aligns with technological changes and increases access to necessary future skills.

At the meeting's conclusion, the Prime Minister thanked Google for their confidence and commitment to investing in Thailand, reaffirming the government's readiness to collaborate in promoting quality investment that respects the environment and resource use. This goes hand in hand with developing Thai people's capabilities to embrace new technologies, aiming for digital and AI investments to bring tangible benefits to Thailand's economy, society, and people.
