Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta said that the primary objective of the alliance government was to create extensive employment opportunities for the youth.

The Minister said that there was the possibility of a semiconductor industry being established at Orvakal with an investment of approximately ₹23,000 crore. However, it will only be a reality if the necessary permissions and clearances under the ISM policy are secured. Such an industry would create direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth, he said.

Mr. Bharath, along with Kurnool MP Bastipati Nagaraju, on Wednesday inaugurated a job fair held at St. Joseph’s Degree College in Kurnool. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government has initiated an action plan to create 20 lakh jobs in the State, fulfilling the promises made during the elections.

The Minister noted that they were attracting investments by fostering a favourable environment for industrial development in the State. He revealed that the Cabinet had approved investments worth ₹13.5 lakh crore, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹10 lakh crore were signed during the partnership summit. “The materialisation of these investments would lead to the establishment of large-scale industries, thereby creating abundant job opportunities for the youth,” he emphasised.

Mr. Bharath further said that measures were being taken to bring investments worth ₹50,000 crore to the Orvakal region by leveraging the district’s resources and geographical advantages.

The Minister also mentioned that flight training centres had become available in Kurnool district. He advised the local youth to utilise these opportunities by undergoing pilot training, enhancing skills, and advancing their careers. He urged them to continuously upgrade their skills to meet industry requirements and capitalise on the employment opportunities rather than wait for them.

The Minister emphasised that the government’s goal was to further industrialise Kurnool district and create large-scale employment opportunities for the local youth.
