Gurajada’s works will inspire generations, says Minister Kondapalli Srinivas on 164th birth anniversary

MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas on Monday (September 21, 2026) said Mahakavi Gurajada Apparao’s “Kanyasulkam” and his other literary works would continue to inspire generations because he had portrayed the issues of society and human emotions.

On the writer’s 164th birth anniversary, Mr. Srinivas, Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathi Raju, Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan and others paid tributes to him at his historic house and later took out a rally to Gurajada Junction to highlight his literary contribution to society.

Mr. Srinivas said the government had declared the birth anniversary a State festival and held celebrations across the State.

Gurajada Apparao’s family members Gurajada Venkateswara Prasad and Gurajada Indira, TDP leaders Prasadula Varalakshmi Prasad and Avanapu Vijay, Lok Satta Party State president Bhisetti Babji and others were present. Representatives of cultural organisations asked the government to build an auditorium next to the writer’s house.
