Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has surpassed Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s international goals tally and moved level with Didier Drogba after taking his Norway total to 65 goals. Drogba Haaland reached the landmark after scoring in Norway’s 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Sunday, having earlier scored twice in their 3-2 Nations League victory over Denmark. The 26-year-old now has 65 goals in 57 appearances for Norway, moving beyond Ibrahimovic’s 62 goals for Sweden and level with former Ivory Coast striker Drogba’s 65 international goals. Haaland had already moved past Ibrahimovic and Brazil legend Ronaldo, both of whom scored 62 international goals, with his brace against Denmark. Haaland has two more Nations League fixtures with Norway during the current international window. Norway will face Wales on Thursday before travelling to Portugal for another meeting with Roberto Martinez’s side on Sunday. The striker will then return to Manchester City ahead of the Premier League’s resumption, with City scheduled to face Liverpool on October 11.
