Habagat, trough of LPA to bring rains over eastern Visayas, 3 other areas - GMA Network

The trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (habagat) are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over eastern Visayas, Palawan, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

The LPA 09g, which is 1,805 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, is also being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It has a medium potential to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Bohol, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon is moderate to strong and moving in the northeast to northwest direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Visayas, Mindanao, and the rest of Southern Luzon will experience light to moderate winds moving in the southwest to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
