Hanuman Ansh box office Day 43: Film crosses Rs 350 crore despite Monday drop
Hanuman Ansh has crossed another major milestone at the worldwide box office, with the film’s gross collection now surpassing the Rs 350-crore mark. The Vishal Chaturvedi directorial reached Rs 352.30 crore worldwide after collecting Rs 4 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India and Rs 50 lakh from overseas markets on Monday, September 21. The milestone comes after a strong seventh-weekend, although the film saw a sharp 70.9 per cent drop from its Sunday collection on Day 46.
The film earned Rs 4 crore nett from 7,629 shows in India on Monday, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 275.88 crore. Its India gross now stands at Rs 325.80 crore, while the overseas gross has reached Rs 26.50 crore.Strong weekend before Monday fall
Hanuman Ansh had shown considerable momentum over its seventh weekend. The film collected Rs 5 crore on Friday, September 18, before almost doubling its collection to Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday. Sunday brought another major jump, with the film earning Rs 13.75 crore.
The three-day weekend therefore contributed Rs 28.50 crore to the India nett total. The Sunday figure was particularly significant, representing a 40 per cent occupancy across 7,628 shows.
Monday, however, brought the expected weekday correction. The collection fell to Rs 4 crore despite the film playing across 7,629 shows. The latest figures underline just how dramatically Hanuman Ansh has grown during its theatrical run. After a modest opening phase, the film witnessed a major surge from its fourth week onwards.
It collected Rs 1.08 crore in Week 1, followed by Rs 40 lakh in Week 2 and Rs 10.40 crore in Week 3. The numbers then climbed to Rs 61 crore in Week 4 and a massive Rs 90.25 crore in Week 5. Week 6 contributed another Rs 80.25 crore.
With the addition of Rs 28.50 crore from Friday to Sunday in Week 7 and Monday’s Rs 4 crore, the film has continued to maintain a significant theatrical presence nearly seven weeks after its release.What is Hanuman Ansh about?
Hanuman Ansh is based on Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, a book inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba. The film follows Lakshmi Narayan, a young boy in pre-Independence India who loses his mother and leaves home in search of God. His journey takes him across northern India and eventually leads to his transformation into Neem Karoli Baba.
The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in the lead, with Anil Rastogi, Sugandha Malhotra, Bhagvandas Patel and Neha Paranjpe among the supporting cast. Vishal Chaturvedi directed the film, which released theatrically on August 7.
With Rs 352.30 crore already in the worldwide gross column, Hanuman Ansh now enters another phase of its theatrical run after achieving the Rs 350 crore milestone.
