The Hassan Deputy Commissioner has suspended two Revenue Department officials for conduct unbecoming of government employees while on duty during the Hasanamba festival.

Uday Nagaraj, second division assistant at the Hassan taluk office, was posted at the sanctum sanctorum of the Hasanamba Temple to manage the crowd. He is accused of a serious lapse in handing over his identity card to another person, who then entered the temple without authorisation. He has been suspended pending a departmental inquiry.

The administration had also deputed Bharath T.P., village administrative officer of Manakattur Circle in Banavara hobli, Arasikere taluk, for duty at the temple. However, he did not report for duty and also conducted himself in a manner unfit for a government employee. He too has been suspended pending a departmental inquiry.
