Rs1.6b project completed in 90 days to ease congestion
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated the Hayatabad Toll Plaza Underpass, a Rs1.6 billion project completed in just 90 days to improve traffic flow and ease congestion in Hayatabad and adjoining areas.
The 500-metre-long project includes a 130-metre barrel, 665 piles and a two-lane underpass. It provides a direct and smoother route for traffic travelling from Detour Road on the Bara side towards Ring Road.
The project was designed primarily to reduce congestion at the Hayatabad Toll Plaza and surrounding roads, facilitate vehicular movement and minimise unnecessary interruptions and delays. Its completion is expected to save commuters' time and improve traffic management and mobility in Hayatabad and nearby areas.
Members of the provincial cabinet, including Meena Khan Afridi, Shafi Jan, Mian Umar Kakakhel and Adil Iqbal, attended the inauguration ceremony.
Members of the National Assembly Junaid Akbar and Asif Khan, parliamentarians elected from Peshawar, party leaders and a large number of citizens were also present on the occasion.
