There's one more thing to tick off your 'passport, ticket, money' checklist from this month.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has introduced an online traveller declaration for those who are entering or leaving the country.

SARS says it's designed to simplify the customs process by allowing travellers to declare goods and currency before arriving at the border.

"Through convenience and digital accessibility, the South African Traveller Management System promotes voluntary compliance to simplify the declaration process and enhance the overall traveller border experience," SARS says on its website.
