House collapses after gas cylinder blast while cooking in UP, several feared trapped

A house collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur after a gas cylinder exploded while food was being cooked. Around seven to eight people are reportedly trapped inside the house. Five people have been rescued so far, while several others are still feared trapped inside.

According to information from the ground, authorities are carrying out the rescue operation by carefully removing the debris, as there are still concerns about possible gas leakage.

The incident took place in a town under the Malwa police station area of Fatehpur district. Police reached the spot and began a rescue operation.

The Chief Minister took cognisance of the incident and directed officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite relief work.

The Chief Minister also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
