House in Karanganyar Raided by Unknown Assailant: Occupant Threatened with Pistol-Like Weapon, 2 Phones Stolen

KARANGANYAR, KOMPAS.com - A house in Sidodadi Hamlet, Ngadiluwih Village, Matesih District, Karanganyar was broken into by an unidentified man on Friday (18/9/2026) around 7:50 a.m.

The unknown assailant threatened the occupant with a weapon resembling a pistol.

Karanganyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit head, AKP Wikan Sri Kadiyono, stated that the incident started when RA (21), one of the occupants, was inside a room and heard the main door being opened by someone.

RA initially thought it was his father returning home. However, a man entered his room and switched on the light.

RA immediately got out of bed and saw the intruder.

"When the perpetrator fled outside, the victim tried to chase him, but the perpetrator threatened the victim by drawing a pistol-like weapon from his waist and pointing it at him," the Criminal Investigation Unit chief said when contacted by Kompas.com on Friday.

RA then backed off, and the assailant escaped westward.

Afterwards, the victim checked the house and found that two mobile phones were missing.

AKP Wikan revealed that the victim subsequently reported the incident to the Matesih Police.

According to the victim's statement, the perpetrator acted alone when entering the house.

The victim was also uncertain whether the perpetrator fled on foot or used a vehicle.

Following the report, the police are conducting an investigation to locate the suspect and are reviewing CCTV footage around the area to identify the perpetrator.

"The investigation is ongoing," he added.
