Yahya Seri, the Houthis’ military spokesperson, claimed in a statement posted on his social media account that Saudi Arabia had carried out more than 450 airstrikes in Yemen.

Seri said that Saudi Arabia had launched an attack on the facilities of the national oil company Aramco in the city of Yanbu using a large number of ballistic missiles and drones.

Claiming that the facility was directly hit, Seri also reported that the Hamis Mushait Air Base had been targeted by a series of ballistic missiles.

Seri stated that they would continue their attacks on Saudi Arabia’s interior, adding that they would respond with “siege against siege, attack against attack.”

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has not issued a statement regarding the Houthis’ claim of an attack.

In a statement made earlier this morning, the Houthis’ military spokesperson had also claimed that they had shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet.

The fighting in Yemen, which has escalated again since July, has significantly altered the map of control on the ground. After securing control over the entire province of Hodeidah, the Houthis advanced westward toward Taiz, capturing cities along the Red Sea coast—such as Muha—as well as routes providing access to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The Houthis’ capture of the Hanish Archipelago, Meyyun Island, and Zubab—all surrounding the Bab al-Mandeb Strait—following their takeover of the Red Sea coastal city of Muha, which is part of Taiz, has led to a significant shift in the conflict zone.
