Ian Rapoport 'would be surprised' if Puka Nacua plays vs. Broncos - Rams Wire

The Los Angeles Rams were without Puka Nacua in Week 2 against the New York Giants and they’re in danger of being without him again on Sunday night in Denver. Sean McVay said on Wednesday that Nacua is “not making great progress” and Ian Rapoport of NF Network shared an equally concerning update Thursday morning.

Rapoport said he would “be surprised” if Nacua suits up against the Broncos this weekend, essentially expecting the Rams receiver to miss a second straight game.

“Now (he’s) not practicing for the Rams,” Rapoport said. “Doesn’t sound like he’s making great progress to be able to play this Sunday for the Los Angeles Rams. They want to make sure they’re cautious with him, so would be surprised if he goes.”

Nacua picked up a hip injury in practice last week leading up to Monday’s game against the Giants and missed the final two days of practice, leading to a questionable tag and eventually being inactive.

He missed Wednesday’s jog-through and it’s unclear how much he’ll participate the rest of the week. If he can’t play against the Broncos this week, the Rams will once again lean on Davante Adams and their other receivers, including Konata Mumpfield and Tutu Atwell.
