Hi and welcome to India Today's live coverage of New Zealand vs India, 2nd ODI in Wellington.

India could make a change to their pace attack, with Mohammed Siraj back in contention after completing his assignment against New Zealand A.

He could come in for Auqib Nabi, while Gurnoor Brar and Anshul Kamboj are expected to retain their places after impressing in Auckland.

New Zealand, meanwhile, will be without Devon Conway, who has been ruled out of the remaining ODIs due to concussion. Nick Kelly has joined the squad, but Tim Seifert is likely to continue opening alongside Will Young. Matt Henry is also in line for a return after clearing concussion protocols.

We have a delay in Wellington. The rain has stopped and the sun is now out, but the ground staff are still working to clear the excess water around the boundary. The covers have been on, with the supersopper also doing its rounds. The toss has officially been delayed, and the umpires are set to inspect conditions at 2.30 pm local time. At least, the weather is finally showing some signs of improvement!

Toss delayed. Next inspection at 7:00 am IST

India made a winning start to the series in Auckland, chasing down a revised target of 167 to beat New Zealand by five wickets. Virat Kohli led the way with a superb 74 off 51 balls, sharing a 113-run stand with Shubman Gill, who contributed 37. The chase was interrupted by rain on multiple occasions, and India did lose a few wickets towards the end, but they eventually got over the line in 22.4 overs. Kohli's innings proved the difference as India took a 1-0 lead.

We're back for the second ODI between India and New Zealand, but the weather in Wellington has already become a talking point. Rain has been falling since morning, and the covers remain on at the Hnry Stadium, raising concerns over a delayed start.

India will be hoping the skies clear soon as they look to take a 2-0 lead in the series, while New Zealand have plenty to play for after their defeat in Auckland. Stay with us for all the latest updates from Wellington!
