India pacer fined by ICC after Women's Asia Cup triumph
India pacer Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 per cent of her match fee and handed one demerit point by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the Code of Conduct during the Women's Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Sunday.
Gaud accepted the sanction, which was imposed after she was found guilty of a Level 1 breach of Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The article relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage, or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
The incident took place during Sri Lanka's chase when Gaud dismissed opener Imesha Dulani. The Indian pacer pointed towards the pavilion during her celebration, a gesture that was deemed by the match officials to have breached the Code of Conduct.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and can result in a fine of up to 50 per cent of a player's match fee, along with one or two demerit points. The demerit point is Gaud's first in a 24-month period.INDIA SEAL RECORD 8TH ASIA CUP TITLE
The disciplinary action came after India produced a dominant performance in the final to defeat Sri Lanka by 72 runs and clinch a record eighth Women's Asia Cup title.
Batting first, India posted 183/5, with openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana providing the platform for a formidable total. Both batters scored half-centuries as India put Sri Lanka under considerable pressure from the outset.
Gaud then gave India an early breakthrough with the ball, dismissing Dulani during the Sri Lankan chase. However, it was India's spin attack that ultimately dismantled the hosts' batting line-up. Shree Charani was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/20, while Deepti Sharma claimed 3/19 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 111.
The final also saw controversy away from the field, with the Indian team opting not to collect the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman and Pakistan Cricket Board president Mohsin Naqvi, who was present at the presentation ceremony.
