Indian Railways approves tri-weekly train between Machilipatnam and Kurnool City

The Indian Railways has approved a new tri-weekly train between Machilipatnam and Kurnool City, via Vijayawada and Gudivada stations of South Coast Railway (SCoR).

The Machilipatnam-Kurnool City express train will depart at 4.55 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and reach Kurnool City at 5.45 a.m. on the next day.

In return, the Kurnool City-Machilipatnam express will start at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and reach Machilipatnam at 9.35 p.m. on the same day.

The new train will halt at major stations including Gudivada, Vijayawada, Narsaraopet, Vinukonda, Donakonda, Markapur Road, Cumbum, Giddalur, Diguvametta, Nandyal, and Betamcherla stations, the railway officials said in a release on Monday (September 28, 2026).
