IndiGo flight attendant gets creative with in-flight snacks, bakes cake for captain

An IndiGo flight attendant turned the aircraft’s galley into a makeshift bakery to surprise the captain on his last flight, whipping up a cake using whatever ingredients were already available onboard.

Ashu Yadwade, the flight attendant, shared a video of the thoughtful gesture on Instagram, showing how she managed to put the cake together during the flight using biscuits, milk, chocolates and almonds.

The video began with Ashu grabbing a packet of biscuits and crushing them before transferring the crumbs into an oven-safe bowl. She then repeated the process with another packet, breaking it down before pouring milk over the crushed biscuits.

She mixed everything together until it formed a thick batter and then placed the bowl inside the oven to bake. While waiting for the cake, Ashu chopped some almonds, which she later used to garnish the freshly baked dessert.

She eventually pulled the cake out and showed off the finished result before the video cut to the captain tasting it. After taking a bite, he appeared pleased with the homemade creation and gave it a thumbs-up.

“Baked a cake for our Captain’s last flight, and seeing everyone enjoy it made my heart so full,” Ashu wrote in the caption.

The unusual in-flight baking idea garnered appreciation from viewers, with some wondering whether the finished dessert was closer to a brownie. Others admired how she managed to create something special with the limited ingredients and facilities available onboard.
