TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian citizens in Thailand are advised to regularly monitor weather forecasts and road conditions to anticipate the impact of flooding in the neighboring country.
The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok on Friday, posted that the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) predicts unstable weather conditions with thunderstoms, gusty winds, and heavy rain in several areas from October 4-7, 2026.
Therefore, the Indonesian Embassy urges Indonesian citizens to avoid flooded and open areas, and prepare emergency supplies.
In case of an emergency, Indonesian citizens are directed to contact the Indonesian Embassy's Bangkok hotline at +66 92 903 1103 and +66 96 192 3237.
The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok also listed several national and Bangkok-area emergency contacts for those affected by the floods.
On September 28, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok recorded an Indonesian citizen affected by the flooding in Thailand.
The Indonesian citizen was stranded in a hotel because the access road around the accommodation was flooded.
The Indonesian Embassy has communicated with the individual concerned and confirmed that they are safe.
As of Thursday, the disaster that has struck several areas in Thailand since mid-September has claimed 24 lives.
Flooding continues to hit Bangkok and 29 other provinces, impacting more than 1.12 million households and 3.19 million residents.
Satellite data from Thailand's Geoinformatics and Space Technology Development Agency shows that approximately 1.71 million rai (approximately 273,600 hectares) of land remains submerged in various areas.
The rains have subsided in most parts of the country except for the lower southern part of Thailand, said government spokesperson Ekkapob Pianpises, adding that overall water conditions "remain under control," with no new flooding crisis.
