Insider reveals what Colts want in return for potential Josh Downs trade - Colts Wire
If the Colts end up trading wide receiver Josh Downs, what might Indianapolis want in return for him?
In the midst of a 2-5 start and the Colts moving on from Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, Downs requested a trade earlier this week.
On Sunday, Adam Schefter shared what the Colts are looking to get if they do end up trading the fourth-year wideout.
"If there is a position to watch, it would be wide receiver. There are a lot of wide receivers out there whose names are being mentioned before the trade deadline. The Colts want a third-round draft pick back for Josh Downs."
Downs is currently in the final year of his rookie deal and is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason.
A third-round pick by the Colts in 2023, Downs has been a reliable and productive target from the slot in the Indianapolis offense. He's been particularly good on third downs.
Despite his trade request, Downs is expected to play on Sunday in Jacksonville.
