Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan says memory has become the biggest AI headache for his customers. Prices have jumped five to seven times, and suppliers have told him the memory chip shortage will last until 2028. Speaking at Splunk's .conf26 in Denver, Tan revealed that Intel can currently supply only half the CPUs its customers want, as AI agents push demand for processors well beyond what the company can make.
