iQOO 16 launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 2K 165Hz display
iQOO has rolled out its latest flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, in China. The smart ships with a Samsung M16 AMOLED display and Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It also carries a whopping 8,400mAh battery with 100W fast charging. It can reach up to 2,800 nits of brightness in HBM mode and up to 10,000 nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, paired with an Adreno 850 GPU and iQOO's dedicated Q4 gaming chip. The phone comes with LPDDR5X Ultra or LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. iQOO also claims that the phone can score around 5.57 million points on AnTuTu. For cooling, the phone gets an 8,500mm 3D vapour chamber and a three-layer graphite system with a total area of 29,453mm.
For photography, the iQOO 16 gets a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS. It is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The telephoto camera uses a Sony sensor. On the front, the phone has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The battery is another major highlight of the iQOO 16. It packs an 8,400mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. The phone also supports a direct-drive power supply feature, which can bypass the battery during intensive gaming sessions.
The smartphone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. It comes with features such as Atomic Workbench, which allows users to run up to five applications on a single screen. The phone also gets a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, stereo speakers and Hi-Fi audio.
It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone comes in three colour options: Light Chaser, Racing Track and Legend.iQOO 16 price and availability
The iQOO 16 starts at CNY 5,999, which is roughly Rs 85,815, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs CNY 6,799 (around Rs 97,260), while the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 7,499 (around Rs 1.07 lakh). The top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model costs CNY 8,499 (around Rs 1.22 lakh).
