A senior Iranian official says Tehran has conveyed to the United States seven conditions for resuming talks on ending the ongoing conflict.

Mohsen Rezaee, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, made the announcement in a social media post on Saturday. The council oversees Iran's diplomacy and national defense.

The full details of all seven conditions have not been disclosed. But he wrote that if Washington wants to get out of the predicament it has created for itself and avoid getting further entangled, it has no choice but to accept Iran's rights and conditions.

Ahead of the post, Rezaee said in an interview with Al Jazeera that the conditions had been communicated to the US via mediator Qatar and that a response from President Donald Trump is awaited.

He listed the conditions Iran has been demanding, including the end of the US maritime blockade and the release of frozen assets. He also expressed Iran's readiness for a decisive war. It remains to be seen whether the conditions will lead to the resumption of talks.
