Is Grand Central Terminal closed? Police activity impacts train services on Harlem, Hudson, New Haven Lines; one held
Several Metro-North train lines experienced delays at Grand Central Terminal on Wednesday due to police activity, according to Metropolitan Transit Authority website.

While some services were impacted, the terminal is still operating.
Upon completion of the investigation, operational procedures were implemented to minimize train delays at Grand Central Terminal, establishing a baseline of 15 minutes for all arrivals and departures occurring after 9 a.m.
The cause for the police deployment at the transit hub remained initially unclear.
According to the MTA, one person was arrested. The New York Police Department stated that no weapon was found at the scene.
During the period in which the train remained stopped, many passengers used at least two emergency windows to exit and proceeded to walk along the railway tracks in the direction of the platform. According to official statements, MTA personnel did not facilitate the opening of the train's doors, nor were passengers provided with instructions to evacuate the train.
MTA police officers, who maintain a presence at Grand Central, responded promptly and guided approximately 60 commuters who had departed from the train to safety on the platform. Officials confirmed that all passengers were accounted for. A precautionary medical evaluation was being conducted for four persons.
According to ABC7, one passenger was experiencing emotional distress underwent evaluation and was expected to receive hospital treatment.
