Is Puka Nacua playing today? Latest injury update on Rams WR

Puka Nacua popped up on the injury report after the Los Angeles Rams’ second practice of the week on Friday, sitting out due to a hip injury. He then missed Saturday’s session, too, leading to him officially being listed as questionable to play against the New York Giants on Monday night.

It’s a different injury than the psoas issue he dealt with during preseason practices, but it’s still serious enough to potentially keep him out of action tonight at SoFi Stadium. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Sunday that Nacua was trending the "wrong way" in terms of his chances of playing, but he's still viewed as a game-time decision.

Here's the latest on Nacua's outlook heading into tonight's game against the Giants.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network provided an update on Nacua’s status Monday morning, echoing much of what has been said about the Rams receiver.

“Puka Nacua, his status is very firmly up in the air for the Los Angeles Rams,” Rapoport said on NFL Network. “He’s dealing with a hip injury. He’s officially listed as questionable. They wanted to determine his availability later today but the fact that he didn’t practice the last two practices late in the week, I would say doesn’t bode great for his availability, but a firm word coming later today.”

If Nacua can't play, the Rams still have Davante Adams at wideout. But after that, the cupboard gets a little bare. Jordan Whittington, who's essentially the Rams' No. 3 wide receiver, is doubtful to play with a quadriceps injury. Los Angeles does also have Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith, CJ Daniels and Tutu Atwell available.

The Rams and Giants must name their inactive players 90 minutes before kickoff, so around 6:45 p.m. ET. At that point, we'll know for sure whether Nacua is playing or not.
