Israeli woman harassed in Rajasthan's Ajmer, 4 arrested

Four men have been arrested after a video allegedly showing them making obscene and objectionable remarks at an Israeli woman tourist at the Kishangarh dumping yard circulated widely on social media, police said on Tuesday.

According to Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agrawala, the woman had gone to the dumping yard, a tourist spot in Kishangarh, and was recording a video when some youths allegedly made obscene and objectionable comments towards her. He said the woman later posted the video on social media, after which it went viral.

Police said they took suo motu cognisance of the case after the video gained attention online. A special team was then formed, and the suspects were identified with the help of technical and intelligence inputs.

The four arrested men have been identified as Mohammad Farhan, 25, Mohammad Asim, 21, Farhan, 24, and Akhtar Ali, 22. Police said all four are residents of the Ramner Road area.

Police said the four were subsequently arrested and are being questioned in connection with the incident at the Kishangarh dumping yard involving the Israeli woman tourist.- Ends
