Jagan seeks CBI probe into Andhra Mega DSC teacher recruitment scam

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer for a CBI inquiry into the alleged Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment scam and sought the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh. The demand follows allegations of irregularities in the 2025 District Selection Committee examination, through which nearly 16,000 government teachers were recruited.

Jagan also alleged that YSRCP leaders, workers and unemployed youth were attacked by the TDP-led coalition government during a recent protest at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh office over the recruitment process.

Lokesh rejected the charge and said Jagan had sided with those who attacked teachers, even as teachers and sports associations held protests across the state on Wednesday over the incident.

The former chief minister met the Governor late on Wednesday at Lok Bhavan in Amaravati and explained what he described as "arbitrary policy changes and serious irregularities" that had turned DSC-2025 into a massive scam.

After the meeting, Jagan said in a post on X: "We sought a CBI investigation into the Mega DSC Scam, and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh."

The opposition leader said YSRCP leaders, workers and unemployed youth were attacked during a recent protest at the SAAP office against alleged irregularities in the examination.

Responding to the allegations, Lokesh said Jagan "chose to stand with rowdy-sheeters who attacked teachers". In a post on X, he said: "I choose to stand with our teachers and sportspersons," and alleged that rowdy-sheeters had infiltrated the YSRCP protest at the SAAP office.

Meanwhile, teachers and sports associations staged protests statewide on Wednesday, condemning the alleged attack on teachers selected under the sports quota through Mega DSC-2025 at the SAAP office in Vijayawada on Monday, according to a press release shared by a government source.

"Strongly condemning physical attacks, abusive behaviour and threats against teachers, the association leaders demanded stringent action against those responsible. Following the call given by teachers' associations, teachers across all districts sported black badges and staged protests during the lunch break," the release said.

Both associations also asked the government to provide security to teachers and take steps to prevent such incidents.
