Jagan to meet Governor over alleged attack on YSRCP rallies demanding CBI probe into DSC recruitment

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to meet Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and apprise him of the alleged attack by TDP groups on the party’s rallies demanding a CBI inquiry into irregularities in the DSC recruitment process.

Mr. Jagan held a meeting with senior party leaders on Tuesday (September 22, 2026) and reviewed the incidents of violence during the protests. TMr. Jagan said the party had taken the incident seriously and would pursue the matter through all constitutional and legal means.

He alleged that Mr. Naidu and Mr. Lokesh had been exposed over the alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process and were unable to face the demand for a CBI inquiry. Whenever the YSRCP raised issues relating to alleged corruption and scams, they resorted to attacks and intimidation, he alleged.

“The peaceful rallies organised by the YSRCP once again brought the DSC scam into public focus. To divert attention from the issue, Chandrababu and Lokesh deployed their goons. It is not a ‘Yuvagalam team’; it is a ‘rowdy force’ being used wherever the government’s corruption, scams and atrocities are questioned,” Mr. Jagan said.

He alleged that an organised attempt was made to create violence during a peaceful programme; the attackers snatched lathis from police personnel and pelted stones at YSRCP workers. He also alleged that Mr. Naidu had planned the attack from Kuppam and that remarks made at a public meeting there indicated a conspiracy.

Despite suffering injuries, YSRCP leaders and workers exercised restraint, Mr. Jagan said. Instead of registering cases against the alleged attackers, the police booked cases against YSRCP members and allowed the assailants to go scot-free, he alleged.

“This has become their standard modus operandi. They attack our people, register cases against the victims and then use the yellow media to spread false propaganda against us. The same groups were involved in several earlier attacks on YSRCP. There is clear evidence before the police, but no action has been taken,” he said.

Mr. Jagan demanded immediate action on the complaints submitted by YSRCP leaders and registration of cases against Mr. Naidu and Mr. Lokesh for allegedly sending the groups responsible for the attack.

“We will continue to question the government until the DSC recruitment process is handed over to the CBI,” Mr. Jagan said.
