Bangladesh's quicks struck three times in the opening 6 overs, but Amir Jangoo hit back with an unbeaten century to lift West Indies to 216 for 4 on the first day of the second Test in Sylhet.

The day was cut short due to bad light in 70 overs.

West Indies chose to bat at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, only to lose three wickets for 27 as Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud made the most of the conditions.

Taskin struck first, removing Brandon King for 9 in the fifth over. Hasan followed by dismissing Kavem Hodge for 1, before Taskin trapped Joshua Da Silva leg-before for 12.

Jangoo and debutant Kevin Wickham then pulled West Indies out of trouble with a 131-run stand for the fourth wicket. Their composed partnership carried the visitors to 86 for 3 at lunch.

Wickham brought up a half-century on debut and looked set to push on before Hasan broke through shortly before tea, beating his defence with a sharp inswinger.

The debutant departed for 61, leaving West Indies at 158 for 4.

Jangoo remained unbeaten as Justin Greaves joined him, taking the score to 180 for 4 at tea.

The left-hander carried on in the final session, reaching his second Test century in the 63rd over with a six off Taijul Islam over extra cover.

The 29-year-old laced his 149-ball knock with 10 fours and 2 sixes. He had previously scored a career-best 233 against Sri Lanka.
