Jannat Mirza speaks out against misuse of women’s faces in fake videos

Influencer Jannat Mirza has taken to social media to demand strict action against individuals misusing people’s faces to create fake and misleading content. Mirza shared a video of herself and a male friend joking around and holding hands, calling out creators for allegedly using her face to make a fake video without her permission and putting her dignity at risk. “This video is not funny at all. Using someone’s face and creating videos like this is extremely concerning. Today, it may be my face being used, but tomorrow it could be any girl’s face and her dignity could be put at risk,” she said.         View this post on Instagram                       The influencer added, “I’m someone who is active on social media, and even I felt extremely uncomfortable seeing this. Imagine girls who aren’t on social media at all — their pictures can also be misused in ways they may never even know about.” Mirza’s comments about the misuse of AI and people’s identities were applauded by fans online, with many also calling for stronger laws to address the issue. “She is absolutely right in this matter. There should be proper laws on this. AI is dangerous, especially in a society like Pakistan where respect is important. It is a place where people can be subjected to violence in the name of tradition,” one user wrote. Another added, “There must be strict rules to punish people who make such videos using AI.”   As a public figure, Mirza has repeatedly raised concerns about online harassment and personal attacks, urging authorities to take stronger action against individuals who target women on social media. With her latest remarks, she has once again highlighted concerns surrounding AI-generated content, privacy and the misuse of women’s identities online.
