Vice President JD Vance was interrupted twice during his Florida rally speech Thursday.

The first interruption came as Vance was praising Florida senator Ashley Moody when a man began shouting from the crowd.

"We got a clown over here," Vance responded, adding - without evidence - that the protester was not a Florida voter but a "Democrat plant."

"Well, we kicked him out, just like we're going to kick out the rest of the Democrats," he told the crowd, to cheers.

Vance quickly returned to his praise of Moody, highlighting her record as Florida attorney general and her positions on immigration, law enforcement and food regulation.

The second interruption came as Vance was talking up Byron Donalds, the Republican candidate for governor. After a woman shouted from the audience, Vance asked what she was saying before interpreting her remarks as support for putting “left wing bureaucrats” in control of Florida schools.

He contrasted that with Donalds’ position that parents should control their children’s education. Vance then pivoted to law enforcement, praising a Florida deputy who had been wounded in the line of duty and arguing that Republicans would stand behind police.

Neither interruption derailed the speech; both became openings for Vance to return to his central message: Florida’s midterm elections are a choice between Republicans aligned with President Donald Trump and Democrats, which he painted as "crazy" and far outside the mainstream.

This is breaking news, updates to follow.
