The Miami Dolphins may have lost their season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders 27-13 on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, but they also lost a rookie to an injury.

In the third quarter of Sunday's matchup, the Dolphins announced that linebacker/safety Kyle Louis was questionable to return with a knee injury. However, he was ruled out for the game in the fourth quarter.

On Monday, head coach Jeff Hafley revealed that Louis will miss the team's Week 2 battle with the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium. There's also a chance that he's out for longer, depending on how his knee responds to the rest and rehab.

Louis provided the Dolphins' defense with a young, versatile defender who could play multiple spots. Luckily, Ronnie Harrison Jr. can do a lot of the same things, but he also dealt with an injury all last week and during Week 1.
