Jewellery assistant manager arrested for allegedly stealing gold worth ₹60 lakh in Kochi

The Palarivattom police have arrested a 27-year-old assistant manager of a jewellery in Palarivattom for allegedly stealing around 428 grams of gold ornaments worth around ₹60 lakh over a period of 13 months, the police said on Friday (September 25, 2026).

Rahul, a native of Ottapalam in Palakkad district, allegedly committed the thefts between January 2025 and February 2026. He allegedly stole the ornaments in several instances and sold them to another person.

The police registered a case following a complaint lodged by the owner.

The investigation team is led by Ernakulam ACP K.J. Peter and Palarivattom Inspector Manjith Lal P.S. The accused was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
