Jio slashes JioBharat phone price, starts selling it for just Rs 299 with conditions
You can now buy JioBharat 4G feature phones at an effective price of Rs 299. Reliance Jio has announced a limited-period anniversary offer on its JioBharat phones as it marks 10 years of operations in India. According to the company, the offer aims to encourage users who still rely on 2G phones to upgrade to 4G. However, there is a catch.
Customers will still have to pay Rs 1,499 upfront for the phone. So, how does the price come down to Rs 299? Jio is offering six months of recharge benefits worth around Rs 1,200 along with the phone. When you subtract that amount from the phone's price, the effective cost comes to Rs 299. Under the Jio Anniversary Offer, customers can buy an eligible JioBharat 4G phone for Rs 1,499 and get six months of recharge benefits. This includes 14GB of data every month and unlimited HD voice calls.
According to Jio, many 2G phone users spend around Rs 199 a month on recharges. That adds up to nearly Rs 1,200 over six months.
Jio is using this calculation to bring the phone's effective price down to Rs 299. So, while customers pay Rs 1,499 upfront, they also get six months of calling and data benefits without paying extra for recharges during that period.JioBharat phone features and specifications
The JioBharat series includes several models, including the JioBharat A1, B1, B2 and B3. These phones offer more than just calling and texting, making them a useful option for people who prefer a traditional keypad phone but still want access to entertainment and digital services.
The phones come with a 2.4-inch display and a 2,000mAh battery, along with support for Jio's 4G network and HD voice calling.
For entertainment, users can access more than 500 TV channels through JioTV. They can also watch live cricket, films and other content on JioHotstar, as well as listen to millions of songs through Jio's music services.
The JioBharat phones also support digital payments through JioPay, with features such as payment alerts and Sound Box functionality.
