JNTU-GV tells 37 affiliated engineering colleges to prioritise AI education

JNTU-GV Vice Chancellor V.V. Subba Rao on Thursday asked all 37 affiliated colleges in the six districts of North Andhra region to focus on artificial intelligence (AI), as it is playing a vital role across all engineering branches.

He said that the University had been updating the syllabus and making all institutions follow the new guidelines to prepared students to understand emerging technologies.

Along with Avanthi group chairman Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, he attended the Fresher’s Day celebrations at Avanthi Engineering College of Cherukupalli, Vizianagaram district, as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that AI would have an impact on human lives in the next few years and updating of AI academic and practical knowledge is necessary for the students.

“AI is going to be necessary for all courses including engineering subjects. The syllabus in higher education courses has to be updated under the guidance of experts. The students who understand AI and courses related to AI tools will be ahead of others in securing decent job opportunities,” said Dr. Subba Rao.

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi said that the department was focusing on technology to deal with cyber security cases effectively. Cognizant Senior Director Suresh Kumar Kadiyam, TCS Enterprise Architect Rama Raju Pusapati, Avanthi Group Vice President M.V.S.S. Nandish, General Secretary M. Priyanka and others were present.
