Joey Porter Jr. breaks his silence after Steelers trade him to Cowboys - Steelers Wire
The Pittsburgh Steelers apparently had enough of the Joey Porter Jr. drama and decided to cut ties with their disgruntled cornerback via a trade to the Dallas Cowboys. And Porter has since broken his silence on the move.
Taking to social media to react to the trade news, Porter expressed excitement about joining his new team while also sending a warning to the league's top receivers — he's ready to lock them up.
What's most frustrating about this situation is that Porter refused to play out his rookie contract with the Steelers but appears to be willing to do so for the Cowboys, as Dallas reportedly won't negotiate a new deal with him until the end of the 2026 season.
Still, the Steelers all but did this to themselves. The team handed out hefty extensions to Nick Herbig, Darnell Washington, and Keeanu Benton while leaving contract talks with Porter on the back burner. The cornerback now heads to Dallas for a fresh start, which is apparently where all the disgruntled Steelers end up.
