Johannesburg’s historic Chancellor House is under refurbishment with 85% of the work complete. The City of Johannesburg is investing approximately R4 million to bring back to life a heritage building that once served as law offices for the late Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo.

The process of refurbishing the building, which commenced on 9 July 2025, is being carried out by the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) on behalf of the City of Johannesburg.
