Former IDAC head Andrea Johnson and her co-accused, dismissed crime intelligence deputy Feroz Khan, have been granted bail of R10 000 each.

The pair appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Their matter was postponed to February next year.

They're accused of defeating the ends of justice.

The matter is in relation to khan's alleged assault of a female brigadier in 2018.

It's alleged Johnson shared details about investigations into Khan with him.

The National Prosecuting Authority's Kaizer Kganyago confirmed Johnson has been charged with contravening the NPA Act.

"At the time when the alleged offence was done, Andrea Johnson wasn't the head of IDAC. She was at the DPP office here in Pretoria, and it is alleged that she then gave information that she was not supposed to give to the accused person to allow them to prepare. Therefore, that is in contravention of the NPA Act."
