Jokowi "Finally" Joins PSI...

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially announced his membership in the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

During a coordination meeting of the Bandung City DPD at Grand Pasundan Hotel on Saturday (26/9/2026), Jokowi showcased his PSI Membership Card (KTA).

"I officially became a part of the PSI family on October 14, 2025. It was a year ago. Many do not believe, so let me just show my membership card," Jokowi stated.

Jokowi emphasized that by displaying the KTA, he affirmed his status as a member of PSI.

In addition to showing the card, Jokowi read aloud his full name and membership number as stated on the card.

"Now I will read it here. It says my name is Jokowi Widodo. My membership number, I will read it. My membership number is S 337220257777777," he said.

Jokowi also expressed surprise at the abundance of the number seven in his membership number.

"I don’t know why there are so many sevens," he remarked.

"So it is clear now. Do not doubt that I am part of the PSI family," he added.

Jokowi mentioned that PSI is now being taken into account and even feared by its political opponents.

He stressed that PSI's status as a new party should not hinder its emergence in the national political arena.

"Even though PSI is a new party, many are now afraid," he explained.

Jokowi also urged the PSI cadres in Bandung to not only focus on completing their organizational structure but to actively engage with the public and build networks with various communities and figures.

"The most important thing is that the structure must be alive; it must work. There’s no use completing the structure if it doesn’t function and there’s no dynamism at the grassroots. The structure must be vibrant and operational," he asserted.

Since 2025, PSI has been announcing that they would have a figure, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, with the initials Mr J.
