Jyotika, Suriya reveal why they chose Scotland for their vow renewal ceremony
Actor-couple Suriya and Jyotika have shared another video from their anniversary celebrations in Scotland, explaining why they chose the location. In his latest post, Suriya also expressed that the couple were overwhelmed by the love and positivity they had received, and thanked the team behind what he described as their unforgettable wedding in Scotland.
The new video offers another glimpse of the couple's vow renewal ceremony, which was held as part of their anniversary celebrations. It comes after earlier pictures and videos from the intimate event, where Suriya and Jyotika renewed their vows in the presence of their children, family and close friends before continuing the celebrations on a yacht.
Sharing the video, Suriya wrote, "Sharing yet another piece of our heart with you as we are overwhelmed by the love and positivity you've showered on us. A heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary team that has made our wedding in Scotland so unforgettable."
He also explained why they picked the location, writing, "We chose Scotland for its misty highlands and lochs and their love story that mirrored our own. But we came home carrying something greater than memories. Having met people so open-hearted, so genuinely warm, that our hearts will never truly go Scot-free." Suriya and Jyotika marked the occasion with an intimate vow renewal ceremony at a church, followed by celebrations with their children, family and close friends. They later shared a series of pictures from the day, showing both of them dressed in white for the ceremony.
Jyotika wore a white bridal gown with minimal accessories, while Suriya chose a white tuxedo. Their children, Diya and Dev, played a special role, walking their parents down the aisle as they renewed their vows. Surrounded by their loved ones, the couple exchanged vows centred on family, love, health, their children and relationships. One moment from the ceremony showed the couple sharing a warm hug afterwards.
Several family members and close friends attended the ceremony. Suriya's brother, actor Karthi, was present with his wife Ranjani. Members of Jyotika's family, including her sister and brother and their respective partners, were also part of the celebrations, making it a close-knit family gathering. Sharing more pictures from the day, Jyotika wrote, "Fun, laughter and a memory for life with our most loved ones! Thank you all for being there for us (sic)."
After the church ceremony, the celebrations moved to a yacht, where Jyotika and Suriya changed into another set of outfits and spent time with family and friends in a more relaxed setting. Photographs from the event offered more glimpses of the couple celebrating together against the backdrop of the yacht.
Along with those images, the couple wrote, "Just sharing some moments from our special day with family and friends." The pictures showed the anniversary celebrations continuing in a quieter family setting rather than as a large-scale event.
The new photographs and video came days after Jyotika shared a video from the vow renewal ceremony, calling it "THE SEQUEL". In that note, she reflected on their years together and wrote about celebrating the imperfections, adjustments, understanding and sacrifices that have shaped their marriage.
