Jyotiraditya Scindia turns chef for a day, flips dosas in Bengaluru's Rameshwaram cafe

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia donned a chef’s cap as he swirled the batter over the tawa to make some crisp dosas at Bengaluru’s iconic Rameshwaram Cafe.

In a video shared on Instagram, Scindia was seen greeting the staff before stepping into the cafe’s kitchen. He then took his place in front of the tawa and got ready to try his hand at making the South Indian staple.

After scooping the batter into a container, Scindia poured it onto the hot tawa and used a circular motion to spread it into a neat, thin dosa. He continued swirling the batter until the dosa took shape and turned crisp.

Once ready, the dosa was placed on a banana leaf-lined plate. Scindia then added the accompanying chutney and sambar, completing the plate before handing it over to a customer.

Sharing the video, Scindia said he “couldn’t resist” visiting Rameshwaram Cafe and decided to head into the kitchen to see how the popular eatery prepares its food.

“Tried my hand at tossing dosas under the watchful eye of the brilliant chefs here. Safe to say, there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye!” he wrote.

Scindia also gave the Bengaluru eatery a generous shoutout, adding, “You can’t come to Bengaluru and not visit Rameshwaram Cafe. An absolute must!”

The clip soon garnered praise from viewers, with people complimenting Scindia on his dosa-making attempt and giving him a shoutout for taking on the task himself.
