Kadapa-based Shirdi Sai Electricals ships first 345 kV power transformer to U.S., targets ₹600 crore in exports

Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL), Kadapa, has shipped its first extra-high voltage (EHV) power transformer, a 175 MVA, 345 kV unit made at its Naini manufacturing facility in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), to the U.S.

The company said the shipment was a milestone in its international business expansion and strengthened its capabilities in manufacturing high-capacity EHV power transformers for global markets.

SSEL Chief Executive Officer Sharat Chandra Kolla said the company had targeted exports of ₹500 crore to ₹600 crore over the next 12 to 18 months from the Naini plant.

“We are also working on diversifying and getting ourselves approved across Europe for both power and distribution transformers,” he added.

SSEL President Sudheer Vennam said the dispatch of the company’s first 175 MVA, 345 kV transformer to the U.S. had validated its capability to handle larger assignments.

“With significant investments underway in grid expansion, electrification and renewable integration across the globe, we believe this milestone creates a strong foundation for scaling our international business and further diversifying our revenue mix,” he said in a release.
