Kelly Osbourne reveals dad Ozzy Osbourne's final words to her before his death - USA Today

Kelly Osbourne is sharing the deeply personal message her father, Ozzy Osbourne, gave her just days before his death.

During an appearance on Paul C. Brunson’s “We Need to Talk” podcast⁠, Kelly Osbourne said the Black Sabbath frontman sat her down three days before his death for an emotional conversation about how much he loved her.

The TV personality recalled her father telling her that "No matter what happens in this life, you can live the rest of your life knowing there was one man on this planet that truly loved you. That truly loved you for every single thing that you are. And that one man is me."

The conversation immediately made Kelly Osbourne emotional. She said she began crying and pleaded, “Please don’t talk like this.” She said he responded "you know I'm not going to be here forever," and then acknowledged that his daughter sometimes struggled to believe she was loved.

“Three days later, he was gone,” Kelly Osbourne said.

Ozzy Osbourne died July 22, 2025, at 76 of a heart attack. His family announced at the time that the legendary rocker died surrounded by loved ones.

The father-daughter exchange came shortly after Ozzy Osbourne fulfilled one of his final wishes: returning to the stage for a farewell concert. On July 5, 2025, he reunited with original Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward during the star-studded Back to the Beginning concert in the band’s hometown of Birmingham, England.

Kelly Osbourne credited her mother, Sharon Osbourne, with making the performance possible despite the musician's declining health. She explained that the concert allowed her father to say goodbye to his fans and thank them for supporting him throughout his decades-long career.

Kelly Osbourne has spoken candidly about the physical and emotional toll of losing her father. Earlier this month, she addressed concerns about her significant weight loss⁠, explaining that she had been unwell while grieving.

She later revealed that she used a voluminous wig to help conceal how much weight she had lost⁠ before making a public appearance. Kelly Osbourne said she initially did not recognize how dramatically her appearance had changed as she coped with her father’s death.

In the “We Need to Talk" interview, Kelly Osbourne also addressed her strained relationship with 43-year-old sister Aimee Osbourne, revealing just how distant the siblings have become.

While discussing her sister's decision not to appear with the rest of the family on "The Osbournes," she held back on revealing why.

“I can’t tell the whole truth because I don’t want to speak on behalf of her,” she said. “We’re not close, but I do respect her enough to, you know, keep her anonymity, if you understand.”

Growing up, Kelly Osbourne said she felt Aimee Osbourne rarely acknowledged her or their brother, Jack Osbourne, and wondered whether her older sister was “embarrassed of us.”

“I’ll never really truly understand. It just felt that way,” she said, adding that their personalities very different. “Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not… We’re like oil and water.”

She said the absence of a close relationship with Aimee Osbourne left a lasting mark.

“One of the hardest things of my life” was that “I never got a big sister,” she said. “I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever.”

Asked whether she had hope for a reconciliation, she responded, “No.”

“I respect her. I accept her, but we’re different. And that’s okay,” she said. “I think the beauty in life is that you have an opportunity to also select who your family is.”

She added: “If you’re not going to accept me for who I am, and constantly be trying to change me, and say horrible things about me, and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”
