Keralam Minister for Welfare of SC, ST and Backward Classes K.A. Thulasi visited Asian Games silver medallist M. Sreeshankar at his house at Yakkara here on Saturday and felicitated him. Mr. Sreeshankar won the silver medal in the long jump at the Asian Games held in Japan. The Minister presented him with a shawl and a memento. She also felicitated his parents, S. Murali and K.S. Bijimol.
Ms. Thulasi said Mr. Sreeshankar’s performance had brought pride and happiness to Keralam, particularly Palakkad. She said achievements like his would inspire more people from Keralam to excel in sports. She conveyed the State government’s appreciation to the athlete and his family.
