Klint Kubiak gives injury updates on two injured Raiders starters - Raiders Wire
There were two injuries to watch coming out of the Raiders Week 3 matchup with the Saints -- safety Treydan Stukes and guard Jackson Powers-Johnson. Wednesday before practice, Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak gave the update on each player's status.
For Stukes, Kubiak had good news, saying that the rookie safety will be "full go".
The second round rookie had won the starting safety job over incumbent Isaiah Pola-Mao. But in Week 2, Stukes suffered a concussion that caused him to miss the team's game in New Orleans last Sunday. Pola-Mao stepped in and the results were not ideal, with Pola-Mao giving up several big plays including a couple touchdown catches.
For Powers-Johnson, Kubiak didn't have good news, making it clear the starting right guard would not be at practice on Wednesday.
JPJ was in a heated competition with second-year guard Caleb Rogers for the starting right guard job. Last season, Rogers stepped in after JPJ was lost to injury midseason. The rookie played well, earning the right to compete for the job this year. JPJ won the job, but Rogers proved himself worthy. Now he could get another chance to prove it.
