Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov spoke to reporters in the capital, Moscow, offering his views on current issues.

Referring to relations between Russia and Japan, Peskov stated, “Japan is displaying an extremely hostile attitude toward our country. Japan has joined all sanctions imposed on our country. For this reason, Japan is on the list of unfriendly countries. It is not Russia that is undermining bilateral relations.”

Peskov, however, declined to comment on the U.S. Department of Justice’s indictment of five individuals—allegedly acting on behalf of Russian intelligence—for conspiring to carry out attacks and targeted assassinations in the U.S. and other countries.
