Is Kris Aquino's return to showbiz becoming permanent?

Many fans recently got excited when she starred in a video campaign for a well-known streaming app. She was also seen in public again when she accompanied her youngest son, Bimby, at a product launch event.

Now, Kris has once again faced select members of the entertainment media, including GMANetwork.com, as she returns as celebrity ambassador for online shopping platform Shopee.

Along with the launch of Shopee VIP was the introduction of Kris as the Queen of All Shopee.

“I'm the first na first endorser na binalikan ng Shopee,” proudly said the actress, who has been dubbed the Queen of All Media.

“Kasi parang they change endorsers, and they don't go back to those. Masaya matipagbalikan sa Shopee.”

As part of her return, Kris said she may also get involved in live selling and micro dramas to be produced on the platform.

This prompted the media to ask: Is Kris's return permanent?

Kris answered, “Only, I think, the work that I can do based on... The reason I'm able to face all of you is na-delay the infusion of my immunosuppressant. The third one should have been around this time. But my WBC [white blood cells], medical term, is too low.

“And it would be bad for me if we tried because, if that were the case, I won't have a life talaga. I'd be stuck in a bubble, in my room.

“Because any form of... If someone has a cough, or someone came from somewhere, and someone there had a cough, and then they visited me, something like that, I'd get a cough already.

“And for me, if that were the case, a cough could easily be pneumonia. And then it's ICU already.”

Because of her delicate condition, Kris said that when it comes to accepting work, “Our priority really is my health.”

Nevertheless, Kris said she is happy that brands continue to trust her.

She said, “What I did notice is that when I'm active, I'm happy. And when I'm happy, health-wise, I notice that my blood pressure is nicer. And then, even my skin, I feel it's better because it really has a lot to do with your attitude.

“And so I intend for 2027 to be... I wish I could be more active.”

Meanwhile, Kris once again thanked the people who continue to pray for the improvement of her condition.

“I have to say thank you to the people because it's... I think I'm the only person who can say that millions really prayed for me to get better. And my journey has been their journey as well.

“So, I need your prayers because this is for life. And there are good days, and there are bad days, but it's so heartwarming.

“And then my sisters say that every person that they run into, they say, 'We're going to continue praying for Kris because we saw her and she's more alive.'

“So I said, yeah, I intend to stay alive.”

She said that part of her improving condition is her continued efforts to help those in need, such as sharing portions of her talent fees with various charities.

She explained, “I know I'm being blessed in order for me to bless others. So, every time your check comes in, a portion of that really goes to a priest who has been my friend since I was 16. And he's now a bishop. And he said that it helped complete this daycare in one area.

“And this one went to repairing where the elderly would be together. It's where they play bingo. For the elderly. Something like that. So I said, how nice that it's going to the community.”

In the end, Kris said, “That is what I had asked for. I hope it will help others.”
