KSRTC conductor suspended for allegedly insulting school student

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has suspended the conductor of a ‘Priyadarshini’ bus that operated on the Guruvayur-Ernakulam route from service on charges of allegedly insulting a higher secondary school student.

This follows a complaint lodged with the Paravur police alleging that he spoke to the girl inappropriately when she, reportedly with trimmed hair, sought a ‘zero ticket’ to avail herself of the free travel scheme for women on KSRTC buses. Pramoj Sankar, Chairman and Managing Director, KSRTC, directed his suspension after its vigilance wing found serious flaws in the conductor’s behaviour towards the passenger.
