KZN police arrest alleged Sydenham mass killer - EWN
KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested a wanted suspect linked to the 2021 murders of nine people in Durban.
One of two suspects in the matter was killed in a shootout with police, while the second evaded arrest until he was found in Melmoth on Wednesday night.
The policeβs Robert Netshiunda said, "The second suspect was elusive but relentless police efforts led them to Obuka area in Melmoth where he was in hiding and he was cornered and arrested. He will appear in the Durban Magistrateβs Court on Friday, 25 September 2026 on multiple counts of murder."
Meanwhile investigations are underway into the murders of eleven people in Kwamakhutha on Tuesday night.
"Detectives are following several leads and it is a matter of time before the suspects are arrested."
