TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - The Land Office (Kantah) or BPN of Tangerang City stated it is still waiting for official information from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) after the Head of Tangerang City BPN, Tardi, was caught in a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (14/9/2026).

The Head of the Administrative Subdivision of Tangerang City Kantah, Eri Khaeruman Khuluki, said the office cannot provide further explanation regarding the legal case involving their leader.

"Regarding what happened yesterday, we are still awaiting information from the ministry. So we are maintaining communication and coordination, both with the central office and the Regional Office (Kanwil)," Eri said when met at the Tangerang City Kantah, Banten, Tuesday (15/9/2026).

Eri added that all steps and measures taken by Tangerang City Kantah will refer to the ministry's directives and the applicable laws and regulations.

"We cannot disclose anything further because we are still waiting for official information. Once there is additional information that can be shared, we will make it public," he said.

On another note, he denied any searches or tight security by law enforcement in the Tangerang City Kantah premises following the OTT.

"No, yesterday and today activities have been running normally as usual," Eri stated.

Despite the ongoing legal process at the KPK, Eri affirmed that the office remains focused on maintaining uninterrupted public service.

"What we are concerned about is that services continue running. Our main focus is on providing services from morning until now. We don’t want the public to be disrupted," he explained.

Based on Kompas.com observations at the scene on Tuesday afternoon, activities in the Consultation Room and Service Room at Tangerang City Kantah proceeded smoothly.

Applicants for land administration services were still being served according to standard operating procedures (SOP) and normal working hours.

Earlier reports confirmed that KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated investigators secured 17 people in the sting operation conducted on Monday (14/9/2026).

"Among them were a Director General within the Ministry of ATR/BPN, the Head of the Land Office in Bogor Regency, and also the Head of the Land Office in Tangerang, along with several others," Budi said at the KPK Merah Putih Building, Jakarta.

The arrests are suspected to be related to corruption offenses involving the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) and indications of receiving gifts or promises in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).

Currently, the KPK is conducting intensive questioning within 24 hours to determine the legal status of those detained.
