Located thousands of kilometers from China, Ciudad del Este in Paraguay is a bustling commercial hub and a window into the everyday connections between the two countries. From Chinese-made electronics, mobile phones and home appliances to new energy vehicles (NEVs) entering the local market, traces of China are visible across the city. Chinese-language signs adorn shopping centers, robots navigate street corners and even local Chinese restaurants adapt their menus to Paraguayan tastes.
